Using silicon oil as a magmatic fluid, a realistic dike can be injected into a cube of ballistics gel. This dike is oriented diagonally to the cube, which tells us the least compressive stress is acting on the same diagonal plane.
The dike has a very nice penny shape and the bubble at the top is helping the dike propagate upwards.
